Overview of the role:


We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Management Accountant to join our finance team here at Nightcap PLC. As a Management Accountant, you will be a key contributor to our financial management process, providing critical insights, analysis, and reporting that support informed decision-making at both operational and strategic levels. Your expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, variance analysis, and compliance will play a pivotal role in driving the financial success Nightcap.


This role is based at our London support office


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data, analyse variances against budgets, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Perform cost analysis to identify areas for cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and profitability enhancement.
  • Monitor and review financial performance indicators, highlighting trends and deviations to the management team.
  • Analyse and report on key performance metrics, providing insights into business performance, revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial processes, internal controls, and procedures to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and financial statements.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and incorporate these updates into financial practices.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to cross-functional teams, assisting with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.


Skills / Experience Required:

  • Professional accounting qualification e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, ideally within a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Business Central dynamics 360) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and generate insights.
